Nicholas Kelly has always been “directing” something. At age four, it was the fit of his fairy costumes. At 12, the school play. At 19, it was sold-out classes of superfit superfans as an International Fitness Instructor. At 25, the Interior Design of some of Sydney’s most stunning homes. At 28 it was Mark Wahlberg for an F45 Ad.
Now an Art Director based in Sydney, Australia, and it’s safe to say Nicholas’ eclectic background informs his work every day.
Nicholas was selected as part of the inaugural cohort of D&AD Shift in Australia, and landed a role working with D&AD Shift Studio on completion.
Nicholas came 3rd in AWARD School and landed a role at ABEL, where he’s been given a vast array of opportunities including leading winning New Business pitches and being creative lead on multiple accounts. Nicholas won an international pitch for Red Bull New Zealand and has been behind campaigns for F45, Macquarie Bank, Westfund Health Insurance, Monsuta, Leadr, Krispy Kreme and many (many) more.
In 2024 despite being crowned winner of B&T’s 30 Under 30 Creative – the indisputable career highlight was dampened by the fact the award was not, in fact, a crown.
